About Me
Gaby Arroyo (she/they) is a non-union triple threat with a BFA in Musical theatre and a minor in dance from Nazareth University. She is originally from Long Island but is currently based in Rochester NY. She discovered theatre in 5th grade through her elementary school's production of Peter Pan jr. where she played Wendy. Her passion and devotion to her craft has been growing exponentially ever since. Throughout her years she has performed in countless show, some of her favorites including: Head Over Heels (Mopsa, Nazareth U. Theatre), Cabaret (Frenchie/Gorilla, Blackfriars Theatre), and Elephant and Piggie's We Are in a Play (Squirelle, Smithtown PAC).
Gaby prides herself on her dedication to create a diverse and supportive community through both performance and pedagogy. She especially loves teaching and choreographing for kids to cultivate an environment that allows for authentic expression, and instills self confidence within her students. She believes that teaching is the best way to learn and there is so much to learn from children, things you may have forgotten along the way.
My Mission
I am a passionate and dedicated performer; I approach each project I work on with unwavering commitment and devote not only my mind but heart and purpose to my work, to create meaningful and evocative art. I thrive as a physically expressive artist and am naturally drawn to contemporary dance and choreography. My passion extends beyond my personal interests, I want to build community for BIPOC performers, teach and choreograph for kids, to inspire a new generation of performers.
